Watermelon monsters

You can find these party animals all over the web. Here are a couple of simple ones that we've made for a party and a summer camp picnic.

I give them a huge thumbs up! They are very easy to put together and they encourage kids to eat lots of healthy fruit. All you need is the fruit, a sharp knife, and a few toothpicks. I use a small ice cream scoop to scoop out the watermelon in semi-attractive balls. Consider it the next time you're asked to bring something to a class potluck.
